Ronald Zimmet Sr. is recognized nationally for his lectures throughout the country to health care providers on how to provide quality care. He is published in the Florida Bar Journal. He is the featured speaker in many risk management video and audio presentations.
Mr. Zimmet has practiced trial law in central Florida since 1975 and currently represents plaintiffs in the areas of personal injury, nursing malpractice, and medical malpractice.
Other lawyers refer their clients to Mr. Zimmet and the firm for representation for injury cases. Typical injuries he has litigated include undiagnosed heart attacks and death following poor care from walk in clinics, bed sores, and broken hips following falls in hospitals, assisted living facilities and nursing homes. He has litigated a wide range of other injuries from falls, and auto and motor cycle accidents. He represents plaintiffs now but previously defended health care providers having been hired by their insurance company. Thus he has experience from both the defense and plaintiff's perspective.
Mr. Zimmet graduated from the University of Florida in 1969. He received his law degree with honors from Florida State University in 1975. He was a member of the Florida State University law review, a legal journal publishing articles on a variety of legal matters. He completed a Harvard Law School Program of Instruction for Lawyers in 1979.
He is admitted to practice before the state courts of Florida, the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida, the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court.
Mr. Zimmet, an avid golfer and resident of Daytona Beach for over 55 years, has been active in a variety of community service programs having been president of the Act Board of Directors, the Daytona Beach Kiwanis Club and the Bethune Cookman College Board of Counselors. He has also served on the Board of Directors of Serenity House. He has received many awards for his community service.
