A wrongful death trial began recently in New Jersey in the death of a 40-year-old man in 2005. Doctors saw the man in July, 2005 after his neighbor believes he was stung by something. He was found unconscious and foaming at the mouth. The man was diagnosed with heatstroke and sent him home from the hospital. Doctors failed to look further into a possible allergic reaction. In August of 2005 the patient was stung by a yellow jacket and later died. His estate believes if further tests and treatment had been given, the man's life could have been saved.

A nursing home facility has been sued after the death of a resident in 2008. Newton McManus Jr. died after suffering from bedsores, leg ischemia, malnutrition and dehydration. The suit has been filed against the facility for its negligence in caring for McManus.
Two Central Florida doctors have been arrested for trafficking prescription drugs. The 84-year-old man was given a nasogastric tube for feeding but it was placed into his lungs and not the stomach. He died three days later from aspiration pneumonia.
