Police Officer Faces Charges in Fatal Crash | Jacksonville Car Accident Attorney


Marcus Kilpatrick, a Jacksonville police officer, has been charged with culpable negligence and giving false statement in an accident killing Matthew Odgen Jr on Jan. 14. Kilpatricks patrol car was going at 98 mph before the accident. He stated he had his emergency equipment on. Witnesses say he didn't. Ogden, 86, died after being thrown from his vehicle.  Kilpatrick must schedule a court date.

Woman’s Leg Amputated After Fall In Nursing Home | Deltona Nursing Home Abuse Lawyer

A nursing home negligence lawsuit recently settled for $7.5 million.  The victim was a Kentucky woman recovering from knee replacement surgery in a nursing home.  She fell while attempting to use the restroom by herself because the nurse said she was not available to help.

Alert System Fails To Call Medical Help, Woman Dies | Orlando Injury Lawyer


A Central Florida woman suffered second-degree burns over almost a quarter of her body after falling in the bath tub.  Madge Weaver died only days later.  Weaver’s family reports she could have survived if medical help had gotten there sooner.  It was reported that Weaver did call for help early via her emergency medical alert pendant that connects to a ResponseLink operator.  ResponseLink failed to call 911 and instead called Weaver numerous times.  The family is now suing the company for wrongful death and negligence.

Nursing Home Plans To Improve After Inspection


Emeritus at Crossing Point in Orange County is barred from admitting new patients, but aims to improve care. Nursing home residents were sent to hospitals in August after a Norovirus outbreak and state inspections in September revealed numerous violations. Some staff members were not giving residents their medication, or in some cases, giving medications they were not qualified to dispense.

Negligence In Vero Beach Hospital | Orlando Nursing Injury Lawyer


A lawsuit against a Vero Beach medical center was recently filed in the death of 76-year-old Thomas Browne.  The lawyers are claiming the emergency room staff was negligent in the care of Browne when he arrived in 2008.  While in the hospital, Browne suffered a fall, which resulted in a broken leg and internal brain bleeding.  He was sent to a nursing home and died months later.
