Beach Patrol Truck Hits Sunbather In Daytona Beach Shores | Port Orange Accident Attorney

A pedestrian accident occurred this weekend on the beach of Daytona Beach Shores north of Dunlawton Avenue.

A 33-year-old woman, from Wichita, Kan., was lying out on the sand when a beach patrol truck struck her, while doing a U-turn.  Erin Joynt was taken to Halifax Health Medical Center and was in stable condition Monday. The beach patrol officer driving the truck was Thomas Moderie, 21.  Moderie, a lifeguard, has had a spotless record with the county in his 5 years working for them on and off.

The accident is under investigation at this time.
