Child Abused By Grandfather | DeLand Child Injury Lawyer

A 59-year-old grandfather was recently arrested and charged with felony child abuse.  Patrick Dougan’s 13-year-old granddaughter ran away from his home Saturday night and was found the next day sleeping in a DeLand Dollar General supply room.  The child told authorities she had been beaten with a piece of plastic.  It appeared the child suffered injuries to her chest, head, hand and back.  She is now in the custody of the Department of Children & Families.  Dougan was taken to the Volusia County Branch Jail.
