An accident on U.S. 1 in Flagler County left a city employee of Daytona Beach dead. The crash occurred early Wednesday when James Nickerson, 49, lost control of his pickup. The vehicle hit a sign, over-corrected then flipped several times. Nickerson, who was wearing a seatbelt, died at the scene. He was a water plant operator.
