Daytona Car Accident Attorney Discusses the most Dangerous Activity for Teen Drivers

The Washington Post recently published an article that identified night time driving as the most dangerous activity for teen drivers.   The Texas transportation institute conducted a 10 year study with fatality data from 1999 to 2008.   In that ten year period the number of day time traffic deaths declined due to safer cars, seat belt laws and drunken-driving enforcement.  However, night time deaths increased.  With drivers over the age of 20, alcohol is the source of the increase in night time deaths.  With teenagers there was in increase in deaths but it was not due to alcohol.  The study suggest that the mixture of using cell phones combined with inexperience driving and dark night time conditions have caused the increase with night time fatalities.
