The death rate for prescription drugs in Florida has recently passed the death rate of illegal drugs.  Statistics say in the first half of the year there were 236 deaths from cocaine and 53 from heroin.  In the same time, there were 1,333 deaths from prescription drugs such as oxycodone, xanax, valium and methadone.  Florida Governor Charlie Crist recently signed a new law asking for the sales of addictive drugs to be reported within 15 days.
