Failed Communication Between Doctors Causes Patient’s Death | Ormond Beach Medical Malpractice Attorney

A medical malpractice trial just ended with a $1.3 million verdict awarded to the husband of a woman who died after surgery.  Rebecca Moore underwent surgery in 2003 with surgeon Dr. Nghia Vo and anesthesiologist Dr. Chad Weare. After surgery, Moore was having difficulty breathing once Weare chose to let her breath on her own.  Moore went into respiratory arrest and eventually cardiac arrest.  The court reported that Vo had not communicated to Weare that Moore would need respiratory assistance after surgery.  Moore’s widow, Michael Moore, a Kentucky resident, will receive the settlement.
