A Delray Beach assisted living facility has been fined $7,500 after the death of a resident in 2009. The resident, Michael Gruen, 93, died hours after drinking dishwashing liquid. Gruen suffered from Alzheimer’s disease. The nursing home staff was negligent it keeping the dangerous chemicals away from many patients with dementia. Gruen died from burns to his esophagus.
