A Haines City resident was killed on Saturday during a car crash in Polk County. Jesus Sandoval-Zapien, 49, was driving a van westbound on Polk County Road when he was hit by Elbert Brinson, 33, of Orlando. Brinson had been running from the police when he hit the van. He was arrested and is being held without bond.
