Mother and Boyfriend Found Guilty After Toddler Killed By Snake | Deltona Child Injury Attorney

The mother of a 2-year-old girl that was killed by a pet snake and the mother's boyfriend were found guilty of all charges last week.

Shaianna was only 2-years-old when she was strangled and killed by a Burmese python that lived in her home.  The python was kept in an aquarium with only a quilt laid over top as a lid. Shaianna’s mother, Jaren Hare, 21, and her boyfriend, Charles “Jason” Darnell, 34, were found guilty of manslaughter, third-degree murder and child neglect.  The pair could face up to 35 years in prison each.
