A motorcycle ran a stop sign in Daytona Beach on Sunday sending two people to the hospital with serious injuries.  Fernando Merkle, 44, of Daytona Beach, was driving the motorcycle on Ora Street when he ran the stop sign and crashed into another vehicle.  Katherine Jackson, 23, was the driver of the second car, a Cadillac.  Merkle and his passenger Mary Pletz-Benedict, 53, of Ormond Beach, were transported to the hospital with serious injuries.  Jackson was not injured in the crash.
