A 54-year-old Mount Dora police officer was struck by a tractor trailer early Tuesday morning. The driver of the semi failed to stop at a red light and crashed into Jim Jicha’s vehicle. Jicha was cut out of the car and transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center. He suffered only a broken arm. The driver was cited for violating a traffic signal and driving on a suspended license.
