A local New Smyrna man was killed Wednesday night after being hit by a vehicle. The victim was identified as Rafael Lopez, 25. The accident occurred on State Road 44 about 8:15 p.m. near Linda Road. The driver’s identity has not been released at this time. The accident is still under investigation.
