A Hawaiian nursing home was recently fined for inappropriate discharge. The home dropped off 81-year-old Florence Ko at a hospital and left. Ko was left with $3 and her hospital gown. The nursing home failed to make sure the patient would be admitted and gave away her bed at the home. She was not admitted to the hospital but the hospital was able to find another facility for her.
