Nursing Homes Employing Many With Criminal Records, Study Shows | Daytona Beach Nursing Home Injury Lawyer

A new study performed by the Department of Health and Human Services reported many nursing homes are employing people with criminal records.  Criminal records were checked for over 35,000 nursing home employees showing over 90 percent of the nursing homes employed at least one person convicted of a crime.  Approximately half of the homes employed five or more people with at least one criminal conviction.   The most common records found were for burglary and drug-related offenses, although some were convicted of assault.
