A fatal pedestrian accident occurred early Monday morning when a deputy crashed into a 38-year-old woman crossing the road. Rachel Johnson was not in a crosswalk while crossing State Road 520 near Cocoa.  Around 5:45 a.m., Johnson was hit by a patrol car driven by Deputy Vincent Marino-Vitane, 45. Marino-Vitane is a deputy for Brevard County.
