A pedestrian was struck by a sport utility vehicle this week while crossing the road. Hyacinth Barker, 76, of Orlando, was hit by a SUV driven by Peggy Mansel, 64, also of Orlando. The accident occurred at Silver Star Road by Hiawassee Road. Barker suffered fatal injuries in the crash.
