Patient Suffers Brain Damage From Hospital’s Negligence | Daytona Beach Medical Malpractice Attorney

A 36-year-old patient is now comatose with significant brain damage because of the alleged negligence of a Las Vegas hospital.  Richard Chamoun underwent cardiac bypass surgery in March of 2010 after coming to the hospital with chest pains.  Days after the surgery he went into cardiac arrest twice.  The hospital transferred him to intensive care for around-the clock monitoring.

During the night, nurse Thomas Tackett removed the monitoring device to bathe Chamoun.  During this 30-minute period Chamoun went into cardiac arrest again.  He was given 18 electrical shocks and CPR was performed to resuscitate him.  Chamoun now suffers significant brain damage and requires dialysis.  Tackett no longer works for the hospital. A medical malpractice lawsuit has been filed against the hospital.
