Red Meat Shown To Be Linked With Pancreatic Cancer | Daytona Beach Medical Malpractice Attorney

A recent study published in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute shows a correlation between eating red meat and pancreatic cancer.  Although it suggests a correlation, more work needs to be done before anyone can be certain. 

The study worked with 308,736 men and 216,737 women between the ages of 50-71.  Each participant was followed for approximately 6.3 years. The results found 865 men and 472 women developed pancreatic cancer.  Men with the high fat consumption such as red meat and dairy products were 53 percent more likely to develop the cancer.  Women were 23 percent more likely.
