The 18-year-old son of a St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office detective died this yesterday in a crash. Charles “Trey” O. Brantley was said to have been trying to avoid a dead raccoon in the road. His vehicle overcorrected and hit a tree. Brantley died at the scene.
