St. John's Mother Charged With Child Neglect | Jacksonville Child Injury Attorney

A 23-year-old mother of a three-year-old boy and one-year-old girl was recently arrested and charged with child neglect. Heather Lyn Sessions is joining the children’s father Jarred James McKie, 24, who was charged last week.

Sessions previously signed an order to keep McKie away from the children until he completes parenting classes. The order was due to prior investigation of their family by the Florida Department of Children and Families.

McKie was then allowed by Sessions to stay with the toddlers.  A neighbor found the 3-year-old at her doorstep asking for food.  The authorities were called and searched the home to find McKie passed out with drugs nearby. The one-year-old was next to him in her crib.
