Surgical Technician May Have Infected Patients With Hepatitis C | Daytona Beach Medical Malpractice Attorney

A surgical technician in Denver, CO was arrested after admitting she stole surgical needles, injected herself with fentanyl and replaced dirty needles with saline solution.  Kristen Diane Parker has hepatitis C (a contagious liver disease) and may have put thousands of surgical patients at risk of contracting the disease due to her actions.

Nine patients of the hospital have tested positive for hepatitis C.  Further investigation is needed to determine the source of their infection. Parker’s hospital contacted 4,700 patients who underwent surgery during the time of her employment.
