A Mother's Story: Part Two | Orlando Medical Malpractice Attorney

Tardive dyskinesia is a movement disorder involving involuntary muscular movements, especially in the face and limbs.  It is caused by many (especially older) antipsychotic medications.  In Part One of this story we meet Melissa, a young mother with a 6-year-old daughter with tardive dyskinesia.  She shared her story so that other parents might be warned to seek information about side effects of commonly prescribed drugs.

Every patient has the right to informed consent regarding medical care, including the right to know about potential side effects of medication.  Sadly, many doctors neglect to tell their patients about tardive dyskinesia when prescribing commonly-used antipsychotics or antiemetics.  If you developed a side effect you weren't properly informed about, you may be entitled to compensation.
