Tip Of The Day | Steering Wheel | Deltona Accident Attorney

A properly positioned steering wheel should allow the driver a line of sight at least 3 inches above (or clear of) the steering wheel. This span allows optimal visibility in front and on the sides of the vehicle. It should be positioned so that the airbag is directed toward the driver's chest, not at the face.

The steering wheel should not obstruct a clear view of gauges and the bottom of the wheel should clear the top of the driver's thighs by about 2 inches, so that leg movement is not impeded. In addition, the driver should be able to reach the wheel easily, with arms slightly bent for comfort and shoulders relaxed.
