Too Many Children Born Addicted To Drugs In Florida, Numbers On The Rise | Orange City Child Injury Attorney

A recent news article reported a dramatic increase in the number of babies born addicted to drugs in Florida.  According to the new Agency for Health Care Administration report, 1,374 children were born addicted to drugs in 2010.  This number increased by 42 percent from the previous year and 290 percent over the past five years.  Babies born addicted to drugs suffer withdrawal symptoms such as diarrhea, sweating, irritability and stiff muscles. According to the report most of the babies in Central Florida tested positive for prescription drugs.
