Watch Out For Manor Care Nursing Home in Winter Park
The Florida Agency for Healthcare Administration Nursing Home Guide available on the AHCA website discloses that Manor Care Nursing and Rehabilitation at 2075 Loch Lomond Drive in Winter Park has been on a watch list with a conditional time frame from March 22, 2008 until September 22, 2010. The nursing home guide discloses that Manor Care was rated one star out of five for quality of care, one star out of five for nutrition and hydration and two stars out of five for pressure ulcers.
The Agency rated a number of categories as demonstrating potential for harm. These include, among others, providing sufficient fluid intake for the residents, providing unnecessary drugs, receiving proper treatment to prevent and heal pressure sores, delivering services by qualified persons in accordance with a care plan, meeting professional standards, conducting a comprehensive assessment of residents and treating residents with dignity and respect.
The Manor Care facility in Winter Park is not alone in nursing homes operated by Manor Care and given low ratings. The state inspection also disclosed that the Manor Care facility in Tampa at 3030 Bears Avenue received one out of five stars for nutrition and hydration and two out of five stars for pressure ulcers. This Tampa nursing home also was rated as having categories indicating potential for harm including meeting nutritional needs of the residents, receiving proper treatment to prevent and heal pressure ulcers and providing drugs and biological agents to residents.
